Jo-Anne Vernay
Dyandra Raye founded Jo-Anne Vernay, a luxury vegan accessories brand crafted from fruit, during her 15-year career in fashion and retail. Halfway through her journey in corporate fashion and entrepreneurship, Dyandra went vegan for lifestyle, health, and environmental reasons. Her career focus and wardrobe soon shifted toward nontoxic, eco-friendly fashion. After noticing a void in the market for luxury footwear and handbags made with biodegradable, plant-based materials rather than animal leather and heavy polyurethanes, Jo-Anne Vernay was created.
Jo-Anne Vernay launched in Fall/Winter 2020 alongside retail partners including Samsung, debuting its premiere women’s style, The Mel Heel, made from pineapple leaf fiber. Since then, the brand has expanded into luxury handbags, launching The Avy Bag in black to strong sell-through. A new colorway is coming soon.
Designed by Dyandra and produced by skilled artisans in Brazil and Portugal, Jo-Anne Vernay embraces slow fashion and thoughtful production, with truly sustainable materials, fine luxury, and long-lasting quality at its core.
Since its inception, Jo-Anne Vernay has been featured in Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire, supported by Harlem’s Fashion Row, and seen on Hollywood talent like Emayatzy Corinealdi. Today, Dyandra continues to expand the brand’s world of luxury vegan footwear and accessories.
