MAISON BLACK FOUNDATION

Maison Black Foundation (MBF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit incubator dedicated to shaping the future of Black fashion designers by preparing high school-aged aspiring designers for industry success. We believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not—and our mission is to change that.

Through our rigorous six-month mentorship program, we equip aspiring designers with the skills, knowledge, and exposure necessary to thrive in the fashion industry. Our program provides comprehensive training in design innovation, advanced technology, business of fashion, and essential life skills—ensuring our mentees are not only creatively prepared but also career-ready with a competitive edge.

At MBF, we understand that access and exposure are game-changers. That’s why we connect our mentees with masterclasses led by industry leaders, hands-on mentorship from seasoned professionals, and an immersive four-day experience in New York City, where they gain firsthand insight into the world of fashion. From studio visits to networking with top designers, this experience broadens their perspectives and expands their aspirations.

We are committed to fostering creativity, confidence, and community. Research consistently shows that mentorship and real-world industry exposure increase college admissions, expand career opportunities, and elevate long-term success. By providing access to knowledge, resources, and professional networks, we ensure our mentees step into the industry with the skills, vision, business acumen, and support system needed to succeed.

MBF equips, empowers, and elevates the next generation of Black fashion talent. Our mission is to inspire possibilities, cultivate confidence, and build lasting legacies. Because when we invest in young creatives, we invest in the future of fashion.
